Publishing Department
Maintains edition of specific publications in range of stylistic revision, editorial preparation of articles.
The main and most important publication of the Department is the science annual “History of Salt Mines Studies and Materials” , issued since 1965, which publishes results of scientific studies conducted by both workers of the Krakow Mine Museum as well as authors from other science centres. Currently prepared is volume XXV. It is worth mentioning that the “Studies” include synthetic and source preparations associated with among others the history of salt mining, Wieliczka and its region.
Also significant among the wide range of publications are the successively updated guides of the Museum and the mine, prepared in form of monographs, albums, and catalogues. Also worth mentioning are the numerous preparations of flyer prints, such as posters, exhibit and museum happening invitations, folders, informers, flyers, company folders, calendars, tickets, postcards, or company documents.
The department also edits the monthly “Museum Gazette” as an addition to the “Panorama of the Wieliczka District”. It cooperates in preparing the advertisement offer composed of company gadgets.
Regarding other activities, there is current work on translating, from English, numerous 18th and 19th century relations of stay in the Wieliczka mine.
