About the Society
The Cracow Saltworks Museum in Wieliczka, in compliance with its charter, addresses its activities at the local community, transmitting knowledge regarding the history of Wieliczka, the salt mine operating underground and the local inhabitants in various forms.
Therefore, the Society of Friends of the Cracow Saltworks Museum was established in December 1993 upon the Museum’s initiative; the Society brings together all individuals interested in the history of the city, the research conducted by the scientific employees and current cultural events. The president of the Society is Henryk Uhryński.
Currently, the Society has over 1,000 members, for whom monthly meetings are organised in the Saltworks Castle in Wieliczka.
